Chilean filmmaker Pablo LarraÃn Matte has a movie called Jackie coming out.
The 40-year-old director's first English-language movie, it world-premiered at the Venice Film Festival September 7.
Deadline Hollywood says Jackie "focuses on the days immediately following the assassination of John F. Kennedy from...[the] widow's perspective."
Asked if the movie is a biographical picture, LarraÃn says he doesn't think so: "It is an approach to something that is fascinating to us. ...I believe she was someone incredibly mysterious; one of the most unknown known people."
It's told from Mrs. Kennedy's point of view as she shares some memories with a reporter at Hyannis Port (in real life, the reporter was Teddy White, for Life magazine -- the conversation took place about a week after the President's death)....
The scenes in Jackie do not go in chronological order.
Reading that, I got inspired: Annie Hall is done the same way -- in non-chronological order. This weekend, I'm going to watch that, study it, and make notes of each scene, and then -- which order the scenes would be in, if you rearranged it and put it in chronological order.
I'm not sure what I will learn about Story-telling, from this exercise, but it will be something....
