left a good job in the city

Reading a little bit about Frank Sinatra recently, I learned that he put out an album in 1960 titled, "Nice 'n' Easy."

Almost immediately started wondering if that album name was the source of a take-off by the Ike and Tina Turner Revue --

where Tina would introduce their version of "Proud Mary" by saying,

Ya know --
every now and then,
I think you might like to hear something from us --

nice --

and easy.

But there's just one thing --
we nevah, evah -- do nothing,

Nice.

And easy.

We always do it -- nice --

and rough.

Now we're gonna take the beginning of this song --

and do it --

easy.

But then we're going to do the finish --

rough.

That's the way we do --

Proud Mary.

(And we're rollin' ... rollin' yeah -- rollin' on the river...)
