Suspense and Noir: can they overlap?

     To have a Film Noir Experience, people can go on Amazon Prime Video and watch a movie titled, 

"Best of Film Noir"

     I don't agree with all of their selections, but every movie they talk about is a good movie.

     They include Alfred Hitchcock movies

Vertigo

and

Rear Window


     Like all of Hitchcock's movies, they include elements of the noir genre, but in my opinion are not noir.  

     Kim Novak and James Stewart in Vertigo --
     Grace Kelly and James Stewart in Rear Window.

These movies were both made in the 1950s, Hitchcock's "Golden Age."  Both of these films are in color.
