Ray Liotta died -- at the age of only 67.
These days that seems "young" to be passing away.
Goodfellas.
Those eyes.
The Guardian had a good article about the American actor, written by Peter Bradshaw.
some reader comments underneath the article:
~~ As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.
RIP Ray, proper legend.
~~ He always had a great presence, superb in Cop Land as well.
RIP.
~~ One of Ray's films that tends to dip under the radar is "Escape From Absolom" similar story to "Waterworld" but with less water.
It looked as if he was enjoying himself in this Sci-Fi adventure -- pure hokum, but enjoyable and easy on the eye. Good night and God bless Ray, and thanks for bringing cinematic joy into my life.
~~ Obviously brilliant in big roles like Goodfellas but quietly charismatic in a small unshowy role in Field of Dreams.
Not much to do in it but he just had that intangible quality that made you want to watch him and believe him whatever the role, or quality of the film.
