no Brown slates

Favorite son Robert Byrd won the primary election with 89 percent of the vote to 11 percent for Wallace.

UTAH
May 17
District mass meetings gave Church 23 percent of the vote to 16 percent for Carter.  Forty-one percent was uncommitted.

Delegate count before June 10:  Church---5; Carter---4; uncommitted---9.

Convention vote:  Carter---10; Brown---5; Cesar Chavez---1; Church---1; Shapp---1.

MARYLAND
May 18
Brown won 49 percent of the vote in the advisory primary election to 37 percent for Carter, 5 for Udall, 4 for Wallace.  But delegates were chosen from slates entered by congressional districts, and there were no Brown slates.

Delegate count before June 10:  Carter---32; Jackson---10; Udall---7; uncommitted---4.

Convention vote:  Carter---44; Udall---6; Brown---3.

MICHIGAN
May 18
Carter won the primary election with 44 percent of the vote to 43 percent for Udall, 7 for Wallace.

Delegate count before June 10:  Carter---69; Udall---58; Wallace---2; uncommitted---4.

Convention vote:  Carter---75; Udall---58.

DEMOCRATS ABROAD
May 24
Mail ballots from Democrats living outside the United States were counted in London.

Delegate count before June 10:  Brown---1/2; uncommitted---2 1/2.

ARKANSAS
May 25
Carter won the primary election with 63 percent of the vote to 16 percent for Wallace, 8 for Udall, 2 for Jackson.

Convention vote:  Carter---25; Udall---1.

IDAHO
May 25
Church won the primary election with 80 percent of the vote to 12 percent for Carter, 2 for Humphrey.

KENTUCKY

Carter won the primary election with 59 percent of the vote to 17 percent for Wallace, 11 for Udall.

Church won the primary election with 34 percent of the vote to 27 percent for Carter and 25 percent for Brown, who ran as a write-in candidate.
