are "some more equal than others"?

The N.R.A. claimed the reason they weren't going to have Dancing Guns Galore in the hall when Vice President Mike Pence gives a speech at their Dallas convention, was because that was the decision of the Secret Service.

Question:  Is it a Secret Service Convention?
     Answer:  No, it is not.

It is an N.R.A. convention; they make the rules; they were just trying to pass the buck and say the Secret Service is  makin' everybody leave their guns at home.
Just trying to blame somebody else, when it becomes obvious that the "Open-Carry-Everywhere-Is-Really-Really-Great" line which they force on the public, is something they of course wish to be exempt from, themselves.  Because they want to -- like -- live, and stuff....

There are plenty of ways to keep Vice Pres. Pence

safe when he makes his N.R.A. speech:  all they have to do is pick one.  He could make the speech from Washington, and it could show on a big screen over the internet.  (Everyone at the convention can take out their phones and watch it on there...)

You know, why do we even have technology, if people still want to believe they must travel to every speech in person, with the attendant risks and costs?

What good is all our technology doing us?  What good is it doing Mike Pence and the N.R.A. members?

If we're not going to use the technology we have, then maybe we should just get rid of it.  Let Pence walk down to Dallas, from Washington or Indiana, wherever he's at -- or ride a horse, or a bicycle or something....

It looks as if N.R.A. showed their true colors -- "we want YOU to have the risk of being shot, we don't want OURSELVES (and the vice president -- whatever) to be at risk of being shot" ...

What they say isn't true

You can't plant no seed

Where there's only greed

I can walk anywhere
I can walk anytime
But the lone highway
Is the only way

What's the world coming to
What's the world coming to
Everyone's gone to the moon
What's the world coming to...
