(entertaining but serious study of

and "Prejudice" in general)
a character gets himself cornered
by his own remarks
and begins to mount a defense with,
"Why, some of my best friends..."
and the character played by the at once delightfully down-to-earth and elegant Celeste Holm counters with, "Yes, and some of your best friends are Methodists but you never remind us of that...."
