This weekend I wrote two poems, one titled "Relax" and the other one, "General Motors."

Finishing, having done the neessary
and the agreed-upon,
And so NOW
Moving to the NEXT
Which is --
Anything
One
Wants.

"General Motors"

Chess Pacific.
A Cat who seemed to arrive by chance.
At first, thin & gray & jumpy;
Later, substantial & gray & decisive.
And playful.
At rest, his back fur
Fluffs, like a field
of wheat -- or some ocean.
His purr
rumbles.
Motor man.
General motors.
Chess Pacific.
