following the money

"How the Sugar Industry Shifted Blame to Fat" is the title of a New York Times article discussing the paying-off of scientists (at Harvard)

to say, back in the 70s or 80s, that sugar wasn't so unhealthy for people, the real thing we must watch out for, was fat.

I remember that shift, and we all believed it.

In the Reader Comment section, another topic is brought up and emphasized:  how the powerful Sugar Industry is polluting South Florida.

---------------------
A Reader Comment from Bridgeport, Connecticut says,

"If you follow the money from taxpayers, to Congress, to the Agriculture Department, to sugar farmers, to the sweetener industry, to the medical community, not once is the consumer's health a factor.  How much worse is the street drug dealer than this motley crew?"
